I apologize for getting the February Newsletter out so late this month. Unfortunately, I was one of the not so lucky ones to get the flu bug this year and it hung on for about 3 weeks. I hope everyone else is well and you are getting some much needed sewing time in and projects done!
Speaking of sewing,
Have you ever felt overwhelmed in your studio, sewing room or the area that you create in from the chaos??? I know that I certainly have, and very recently to be exact! I find it ironic that when I went to get the free patterns for you this month there it was, right there on the front page.....
Smart Ways to Store Fabric
STORAGE and ORGANIZATION SOLUTIONS
and I'm thinking it came just at the right time, this is for me too! In December, I suggested that we move my sewing area around at home and well, we all know things can only escalate from there.... especially when the words " I was thinking" come out of my mouth! I could just see the look of concern on Brian's face when he said
"oh boy, here we go"!!!
(on a side note to myself- I need to scratch that verbiage from my vocabulary, I thought he was going to run for the woods at that point)
Long story short, we installed a new floor from my thinking thoughts because,
why not right? (wish I could insert an emoji right here)
I do not know about you, but apparently I like to hold on to anything and everything that I think I "might" use "someday".
I had to do some deep down soul searching and just let some of it go...... I know, I can hear some of you gasping for air but I'm here to tell you it sure does feel so much better and more pleasant to be in my area. I sorted, started donate piles and pitched a lot of "stuff". Have you ever stopped and asked yourself "where in the world did this even come from? Or what was I thinking?" Yep, me too!!!!
Once that was all done and I was done with the conversation that I was having with myself, I then needed to determine where I was going to put all the "stuff" that I kept (okay, so I kept a lot also and more soul searching is necessary) but I have been struggling to come up with some solutions, especially for the fabric and that particular area has come to a stand still. I feel inspired to get back after it and tackle the area after seeing the many pictures / solutions they shared! I hope that you too can find some inspiration or good idea's to include when you take on the all dreaded duty of cleaning up your space.
